The route includes Lancaster, Morecambe, Carnforth, Ulverston and Barrow in Furness, and was recently featured on BBC Countryfile.

For more information, have a look at the Morecambe Bay Partnership website. This is what they say: “A fantastic new cycle way around Morecambe Bay. Have your own big adventure on two wheels!

The Bay Cycle Way connects, signs and improves 130km of relatively flat cycle routes around the Bay. It starts in Lancashire, crossing the border into Cumbria, with the hills of the Lake District not so far away.

It is a new, family-friendly, long distance route, suitable for entry-level touring cyclists. It does have hills of course – you will be going through Cumbria in part!

It is route 700 on the National Cycle Network (NCN). And importantly it is designed so that you’ll never be far from a loo, a view or a brew!

Sounds very good to us!
