Coast to Coast Across Scotland by Bike: the Scottish Coast to Coast
The Ultimate Scottish C2C guide book describes the coast to coast cycle route through the Southern Uplands of Scotland designed by the creators of the original C2C.
This is the complete guide, including maps, directions, attractions along the way, accommodation and much more.
Linking Annan on the Solway Firth and South Queensferry on the Firth of Forth near Edinburgh, the Scottish Coast to Coast is a 122 mile signed cycle route. It is a mix of country lanes, high quality cycle paths and seaside promenades.
There are two challenging climbs, over the classic Devils Beef Tub and through the Moorfoot Hills before opening out onto a panoramic view of the Lothians, Edinburgh Castle, and the Firth of Forth.
It finishes under the mighty Forth Bridge.
The guide is written by Richard Peace of Excellent Books, known for his guide books and maps for many cycle-touring routes.
You can read a review of the route on the sevendaycyclist website: https://www.sevendaycyclist.com/cycling-a-scottish-c2c-solway-to-fo: “Steve Dyster set off from Annan, with Richard Peace’s guidebook to the Scottish C2C in his pocket, and arrived safely, having consulted it on several occasions, at the southern end of the Forth Bridge. In between were two days of cycling during which the weather was as wildly varied as the scenery, only much more changeable.”
